Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese art that was developed around 700 AD and since then has had numerous and diverse applications. 

Purposes included clothing, religion, meditation, Samurai armour, Kimono Obi and tea ceremonies.

 

The resurgence and development of modern new methods have enabled an explosion of innovative and exciting jewellery, ornaments and many useful, beautiful objects.  All my pieces have their own design story stemming from an inspiration: maybe transient, maybe something important, maybe whimsical.

I see each result as a unique display of art connected to a distinctive meaning. 
I love the challenge of creating a new piece for a person, something that specially fits their personality and interests or an event:  magnificent or tiny.
